Quarter 3 Project
Thesis from last quarter: Nursing can be improved by lowering the health care rate, use the money the receive and split it equally beyond each health program, and more doctors and nurses in case of emergencies.
My parter and I found and article opposing our thesis. The article says that hospitals are not allowing charity aid law, meaning that they aren't allowing healthcare anymore because they aren't making as much money as they used too. In the article in talks about a woman who used to be healthy with good medical insurance, an unblemished credit history and a solid career in graphic design. But when she was rushed to the hospital emergency room shortly after her 48th birthday, she was jobless, uninsured and having a stroke. Her medical problem was rare, a result of a benign tumor or her adrenal gland, but the financial consequences were not unusual. She had to use all her savings to cover her surgery payments of $17,000 to remove the tumor. Then she had to pay $88,000 in additional hospital bills. When she couldn't pay the bills in time, she was eventually sued by the hospital. This artical shows how cruel hospitals can be when they don't allow financial aid. In my one interview, the nurse said that now a days, people can not afford health care and can't go to hospitals anymore when they are sick or injured since it costs way to much money. The articles opinion is incorrect because we should have financial aid. Not everyone can afford to pay hospital bills and those people can't help it that they got injured horribly.
We also found an article that agrees with our thesis. There is a hospital called Trinitty hospital who forgave $242.1 million in medical bills for patients who qualified for financial aid. Many hospitals around the U.S. allow financial aid to patients who don't have money to afford the surgieries or medications they need to get better. Although hospitals are now not allowing financial aid due to the loss of money, there are still many hospitals out there who are for financial aid.

The person we received this email from works at the front desk in the hospital. She works for Bayfront Health. We got this email from a hospital in Bonita Springs. They do agree with financial aid and provide it for anyone who is financially unstable.
This is Sarah and she works for Island Health. Island Health is located in Cananda. Their system is publically funded by the government. Canada's taxes are put towards healthcare to fund it for everybody. Canada has a totally different perspective on financial aid than the United States. Canada puts their taxes toward free financial aid while the United States wants people to buy health insurance.
